Chapter Four
In the depths of space Sin was able to finally relax. The black coldness somehow was able
to always soothe her ravaged spirit, and currently Sin needed all of the soothing she could get; although she would never
admit it.
Leaning her head back, she watched all of her soldiers practice in their MS's, casually drumming her
gloved fingers on her arm rest and crossing her legs. Sin, after months of 'good behavior' and following every command
of her superiors, had had been made Security and Weapons Leutenant. Where currently she was on assignment to prepair
the second level recruits in real space combat as well as escourt a shuttle full of Leo's to a hidden base. It was a
simple assignment, but there was always the chance that a Gundum would show. Which Sin hoped it would, she was wanting
to see her opponents to study their techniques. But so far it had been all clear.
Sighing in annoyance Sin casually
punched in a few numbers bringing up a screen of data. Figuring that she needed some way to keep her mind occupied she
started typing, writing her report on the analysis of Sam Genkai's new and improved security system. It was good, really
good and Sin hated to admit that perhaps a little better in some aspects then what she would have done. But despite
the impressiveness of the system she was pissed that she couldn't crack the security codes yet. As Leutenant she was
supposed to have all clearence, but it seemed that her superiors had insisted on playing a game with her. And Sin hated
games.
However, her dark moody thoughts were interrupted when she heard and insistant beeping upon her radar.
Growling she clicked the system screen away and brought up the radar seeing that two rather large objects were approaching,
really fast towards the shuttle and her squadron on soldiers. Uncrossing her legs Sin sat up straighter, unconsciously
rebuckling her belts and quickly drawing a scan on the approaching objects. Eyes widening with sudden glee she let a
smile cross her lips.
"It's a gundum." She whispered in awe. But just as quickly she snapped out of it
and resumed her normal impassive expression.
"Leutenant!! There's two Gundum's approaching! What should
we do?!"
Frowning Sin turned her head to the right pressing a button so all of her soldiers could here her on one
frequency. Most likely the Gundums were listening as well, which was exactly what she wanted.
"What you should
do, is get in your practiced fighting formation you idiots." She replied coldly raising her hand to switch a flip so
she could start recording the incoming fight. She was not about to pass up this opportunity just because her soldiers
were afraid. She had waited all her life to see a Gundum and she would not run away from this fight.
"But Leutenant!"
"That
is an order soldier, or do you have a problem with it?" Sin growled as she watched the two Gundum's split up one hovering
in the background while a Gundum with a sytche took out at least fifteen of her soldiers that was nearest the shuttle.
Knowing that their intent was to destroy the Leo's she gritted her teeth instantly barking out orders.
"Get off your
lazy asses and guard the shuttle, their taking you out without even breaking a sweat!"
Clenching her fist Sin remained
back where she was despite the urgency she felt to go in and do some of her own damage. She was only there to retrieve
data to use in her simulations. There was no need to enter the fight, even if it meant that her whole squadron would
be slaughtered. Her orders were specific, she was not to engage in any activities of fighting.
"We should retreat
Leutenant Masters! .its to much and were not experienced!" came the garble from one of her soldiers.
Turning
her mobile suit towards the retreating form she sent one message to him.
"There is no place on the battle field for
cowards. Fight for your death!" She yelled before raising her blaster and shooting one of her own men. "I
do not except retreats. Fight or I'll kill you all myself." She finished coldly, once again leaning back in her
chair and watching her recruits fight with new vigor. Not that it would help them, but it did lightin her disgust for
them, at least just a little. As she recorded a blinking appeared upon her screen in the upper left hand corner and
she smirked realizing that she was being hailed but the Gundums.
Turning off her lights she pressed her button two
faces instantly appearing on her screen. Apparently not at all happy, even though one with large violet eyes was smiling
maliciously, while the other stared blankly at the screen hardly expressing any kind of emotion with chestnut bangs hanging
over blocking one emerald eye.
"Good evening, friends." Sin replied smoothly eyes glinting with amusement while
the one with the braid tried to adjust his screen apparently not able to see her very well. Only her eyes, which had
been her intention in the first place. Sin liked having the upper hand in a situaion and knowing what they looked like
made it easier if she ever had initate some kind of field game. Knowing their faces made her job easier when she would
track them. "What can I do for you?"
"Surrender and have your troops come peacefully or I'll just have to slice
'em and dice 'em." The one with the braid replied cheerfully.
Raising an eyebrow Sin briefly wondered about him
and his mental stability but quickly shook the thought away.
"Really, do expect everything to be that easy? Even
after the demonstration only moments before?" Sin questioned curious. Obviously the two were far to cocky if they
thought that she would. Just because they had a gundum didn't mean that she couldn't fight and win. They just
had the advantage of better technology. She however, had skill.
"You killed a fellow soldier!." The quiet
replied almost as though he didn't quite believe it.
Laughing Sin smiled her white teeth flashing. "They were
all supposed to die anyways." Sin replied quietly letting her eyes travel to the wreckaged battlefield, where every
mobile suit was lying in pieces. Leaning forward Sin smirked looking at their confused faces. "Apparently all
the scientists were going for was braun alone, they seemed to have lacked the intellect in their fighters."
"Hey!
Watch it pal!" the one cried furiously braid flying as he through his arms around ranting about his intelligence.
"I'm the God of Death, and damnit I and NOT stupidâ¦."
Raising an eyebrow Sin shook her head amused. It really
was to bad that she would eventually have to kill them all, they really weren't that bad. She actually kind of liked
them, and at least they were a good a oppenent.
"Why do you thin it was so easy in the first place that you defeated
these weaklings? Or that you found this shuttle so easily?" Sin asked watching the 'God of Death's' eyes widening.
"They were only second level recuits and entirely expendable, the only reason that I'm even out here was to collect data on
the Gundums, and I knew that eventually one would come. I was thrilled when I saw two."
"You mean this was just
a decoy?!"
Sin smirked clapping her hands. "Bravo, baka. This, was only a decoy and by the now the real
shipment has already reached its destination. Althouth, " She mused crossing her legs once more, "I doubt that even
if you were forwarned you still would have found it. There's enough decoys out that you Gundum friends would be swamped."
"Since
when in the hell did OZ get so god damned clever?!" the God of Death screamed angrily.
"Since they got me."
Sin replied simply. "I've noticed that they do tend to lack the more, intelligent aspects to their ranks. However
despite how much fun it was having a chat I must be going. My mission is complete, and I've already made you look like
fools enough."
With that Sin grabbed her helmet and snapped it closed with a hiss, breathing in the oxygen that filled
it. Grinning she hit a large red button and her mobile suit exploded, deftly covering her escape in a smaller craft.
Quickly making her way back to her rendevous point.
Teffin and Crobis would not be happy with her for letting her squadron
get completely butchered but she really wasn't concerned. She had gotten what she wanted, and that was all that mattered.
**
"You
idiot!" came a loud scream followed by the sound of a fist cracking against skin.
Blinking Sin wiped the blood
from her lip and straightened staring straight ahead as Teffin continued to berate her.
"How could you let a squadron
of thirty five get slaughtered?! Don't you realize that we need all the soldiers we can get?" "For your information
sir, with one swipe of his thermal sythcthe the one, 02 wiped out fifteen of your soldiers. I doubt they would have
survived even if I had given them the ok to retreat." Sin replied smoothely letting her eyes meet the enraged one of
Teffin, delighting in the look of pure rage that smoldered behind his glasses.
Teffin breathed deepily trying his hardest
to keep his cool. It was hard, really really hard when Sin was staring at him a small smirk upon her lips and here stance
defiant and haughty.
"For this you will spend one month in the brig. You're getting off lucky Masters.
I should kill you for this."
"You're far to kind, sir." Sin replied voice dripping with venom.
"Take her
away, and lock her up." Teffin replied angrily standing up to follow the two soldiers that had grabbed Sin's arms making
sure that he was there if she tried to escape. However, Teffin was surprised when the girl offered no resistance and
walked silently to the holding area and into her cell. He watched as she turned, her dark green eyes sparkling with
amusement and he bit his tongue wanting desperately to find some way to break the girl. A thought hit him, and slowly
he smiled.
"Since you're stuck here, I'll make sure to say hi to your little brother for you. He's such a cute
little kid." Before she could reply he pressed the button and the doors slid shut with a hiss. And Teffin
stood there looking through the glass at the enraged Sin, smiling mockingly as she picked up a chair and smashed it against
the glass right where his head was. Without another word he turned and strode away a smile gracing his lips as he realized
that he had found a way to break the little girl.
Cursing herself once again for letting Teffin get the best of her
Sin removed her gloves throwing them onto her bed. She knew that she probably shouldn't have let all of those soldiers
die, at least for her brothers sake, but her hatred for Oz ran deep. It was hard for a soul of vengence to hold back.
She had wanted them to die and therefore hat let them. Now she was regretting her choice.
Turning her head to
the side Sin caught the sight of one of her guards watching her. Smriking to herself she sighed dramatically knowing
that they could hear here. Pouting Sin walked over to the glass door and hit it a few times.
"Guard, hey GUARD!
Open up and come here, I've got a problem!" Sin yelled grabbing the man's attention.
"What do you want?"
he growled trying to be annoyed.
"Can I at least go get some clothes so I don't have to wear this for a month?
I mean that's not to much trouble is it?" she asked coolly.
"â¦â¦..fine, but nothing funny." The guard
replied suspiciously.
"I wouldn't dream of it." Sin replied with a small smirk gracing her lips as she walked
out of her cell. She could feel the guard staring at her and she smiled, it would be the last thing he would ever see.
**
The
corridor was dark, silent, and had a faint metallic smell to it as General Crobis, along with Teffin walked down it.
Odd, that the lights where turned off. They had known that Sam Genkai was running tests on his new and improved security
system but the man had never said that anything like this would have happened. It was weird, and most defiantly unsettling.
Sighing
Teffin wearily rubbed his temple. "I'm going to go see what's going on." He replied taking off in the opposite
direction leaving Crobis there unsure of what he should do. However when he heard a thump coming from the general lounge
where the soldiers liked to hang in their down time he decided to go in there and check out the situation and see if any of
them knew what in the hell was going on. Slowly, but surely Crobis walked to his door, the metallic smell becoming stronger
with each approaching step. Frowning he pressed the side panel and the doors swooshed open, and gasping Crobis turned
to the side kneeling on the ground as he threw up.
After heaving for what seemed about ten minutes he finally managed
to get a hold of himself. Standing General Crobis looked around in utter horror. Dark, thick crimson blood was
splattered all over the controls and the walls. He placed a thick chubby hand up to his mouth to stop from gagging again
as the smell of stench filtered into his nostrils. For all the wars he had seen, all of the destruction could not have
prepared him for the gruesome sights of the mutilated bodies lying haphazardly about in ungodly angles.
"What in God's name has happened here?" He moaned quietly as the sight of his men made his bowls clench in
fear. "My solders...." Stepping over the lifeless dead bodies he made his way through the carnage. What kind of
demon could do such a thing? Stumbling, feeling dizzy and light headed he made his way down the corridors of the base,
his boots were now covered thickly in blood causing him to slip as he half ran half walked to the shuttle area, but abruptly
stopped at the sight of a blood drench young women standing in front of him with wild glazed eyes.
"God.... had nothing
to do with this general." She paused looking around her at the debris of bloody body's. "Lovely isn't it?"
Sin indicated looking around at the ground; finally she looked up smiling brightly like a child at Christmas, her white teeth
shinning against the dark stain of blood. "Do you believe in Angels?" She whispered almost like she was sharing
a secret with him. "Oh.... God, protect me?"
"Wasn't it you who said, General, that there is no God or justice,
only us?" She smirked taking graceful steps towards him. "My mother always called me Angel, shall I show you my
wings?"
Crobis took a hesitant step backwards, eyes wide in fear. He was going to die. He knew it, and
when Sin Masters took a step forward she only enforced it.
"Youâ¦were in brigâ¦"
"Correct, General Crobis, I
indeed was in brig. But I had a sudden urge, which couldn't be denied. I'm sure you understand." She whispered
softly eyes never leaving his face as she took careful steps towards him.
Back hitting the wall Crobis gasped as she
came closer. Seeing the glint of her dagger he breathed heavily wishing for something to happen. However he wasn't
expecting a gunshot to ring out and for Sin to collapse on the ground blood gushing from her thigh. Looking up Crobis
was glad to see Teffin standing there, a thin trail of smoke coming from the tip of his pistol. Behind him were two
terrified soldiers, both gaping in horror at the bloodied bodies that surrounded them.
"Take her and lock her away.
Her cell is not to be opened unless I give specific orders. Place her in solitary."
Gingerly they picked
her up, as though expecting her to tear their throats out. But as they passed Teffin Sin made them stop.
"He
was already dead, wasn't he." She replied softly, not asking just merely stating the obvious. "He's been dead
for months hasn't he." "Yes." Teffin replied just as softly.
Sin finally raised her eyes, here expression
seemingly dead. "You know I'll kill you."
"Dead people can't pull triggers, masters." Teffin replied knowing
that he had wounded her. Apparently the love of her younger brother had kept her going, at least he assumed it did,
and now he had taken that away, with much pleasure.
"True, but I already told you hell has no boundries."
